One Shenton:
The Space Between
This retrofit of the division between the bedroom and living spaces added visual texture and interest to a space that felt cold and empty. A wall of storage becomes a feature through the playful composition of doors, adding both function and form. Within the bedroom, a wall is built out to match, and finished in light wood material to lend a cozy feel to the sleeping area.
In lieu of multiple leaves of sliding glass doors, a revolving television mount allows it to serve two spaces, while adding interest to the boundary between them. Again, junction lines are aligned and considered carefully to reduce the visual clutter, while cove lighting lifts the ceiling while softly illuminating the cozy spaces.
